I started writing poetry when I was still in Junior high School. It was a way for me to express myself to the changes that were happening in my life. I would sit for hours in my bedroom and write short stories and poetry. It was a way for me to cleanse my soul. It is still true today.

My dream was to become a published author. Although, I was hoping for a novel to be published, I was told to by my family to write what I know and that was poetry. Taking my sisters advice, I submitted my poetry and short stories to Publish America and just received word that they will be publishing my poetry.

I couldn't be more thrilled.
